THE
BASTIONS OF PARSANO REOPEN TO PUBLIC AND EVENTS Starting from April 17 2011 the old bastions of Parsano
reopen their doors to offer tourists and citizens the opportunity
to visit the viceregal ancient walls of the city of Sorrento. They
will be accessible to the public from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. and from

on the main square of Sorrento, "Piazza Veniero" ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- LE VIE DEL LIMONE (THE WAYS OF THE LEMON) - Edition 2011 On the Amalfi Coast at the end of April takes place the event "The ways of the lemon" a gastronomic pathway in which lemon is the absolute protagonist, including three interesting routes on the Sorrento Coast, from Vico Equense to Massa Lubrense, with guided tours to the mills and factories where the famous limoncello of Sorrento is produced, plus a fourth route on Capri and Anacapri. PALME DI CONFETTI" V EDITION The fifth edition of the show 'Le Palme di Confetti' (Confetti Palms) is held in Sorrento 16 to 26 April 2011 in the Church 'Chiesa dell'Addolorata' in Via San Cesareo.This event, which always takes place at Easter time, proposes each year one of the oldest traditions to the local, national and international public. The items on show, small trees, bouquets, always different branches combine tradition and innovation in creativity and in the use, of special materials that enrich this sweet almond. IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF HISTORY - FOURTH EDITION We remind you the remaining events of the fourth edition of ‘Your walk in the footsteps of history’, which began Jan. 9, 2011: historical, artistic, gastronomic and naturalistic events proposed by Unitre of Piano di Sorrento, in collaboration with the municipal administration. Events dedicated to the history of the religious, artistic and economic life of Sorrento in the frescoes of the Churches of Casarlano and Sant'Agata sui Due Golfi, with particular attention to the role of the religious orders. In combination with nature walks in unspoilt nature sites, such as Malacoccola and the "Queen Giovanna" in Sorrento. SHOW IN SORRENTO - DURING EASTER TIME In Sorrento, during the Easter week, visitors can admire unique pieces in the ‘Antiques Show’ housed in the rooms of Villa Fiorentino, with the participation of antique dealers coming from across Italy. this event has been organized by ‘Associazione Antiquari Sorrentini’ and sponsored by the Province of Naples, by the foundation ‘Fondazione Sorrento’ and the City of Sorrento. "HISTORY OF THE MARINE AND SHIPBUILDING ON THE BEACHES OF SORRENTO,
FROM ALIMURI TO MARINA GRANDE" The halls of Villa Fiorentino in Sorrento will host an impressive exhibition about the history of marine and shipbuilding in Sorrento: an exhibition of photographs, equipment, ship models and historical documents telling the economic history of the Sorrentine Peninsula regarding shipbuilding on the beaches from Alimuri (Meta) to Marina Grande (Sorrento). The exhibition takes place from 14 May to 26 June 2011 and is organized by the Foundation Sorrento and the Association of Research Studies and Documentation on the Maritime Coast, in cooperation with the Nautical Institute "Nino Bixio" and the Naval Museum "Mario Maresca." ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SORRENTO ANTIQUARIA - VI EDITION In Sorrento in Piazza Veniero the sixth edition of the event SORRENTO
ANTIQUARIA will take place, an open air exhibition of antiques,
local crafts and collectibles. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SORRENTO: Collection 'SALERNO IN SHOW' From March 13 to April 10 the rooms on the second floor of Villa
Fiorentino are open to the public, where you can visit the exhibition
of the Collection 'SALERNO IN SHOW', a collection of furniture
and musical instruments made between the end of 800 and the beginning
of 900 belonging to Enrico Salierno, a man of Sorrento transplanted
in the United States where he created a company for the purchase
and sale of products from the Sorrentine Peninsula. At his death
he decided to leave his collection to Union 's Craft Sorrento which
donated it to the city of Sorrento. You can admire fully functional
objects and find original records of the period prior to vinyl
discs. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1st Meeting of the DUFOUR YACHTS - Piano di Sorrento From 1 to 3 April 2011 at the port of Piano di Sorrento the first
meeting of the Dufour Yachts sailing boats will be held. The ancient
